CPR Saves Lives

Motion Graphics 2022

This animation is a explainer video to teach others how to perform CPR. In one year alone, 350,000 Americans die from a cardiac arrest and more than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of a hospital each year. Bystander CPR can double or triple from and out of hospital cardiac arrest. If more people learn CPR and become prepared to assist in a cardiac arrest the number of deaths could decrease immensely which is why I created a 3 minute video briefly teaching the steps of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

I started by creating monster-like characters to guide us through our learning process. Using Adobe Illustrator and After Effects, I would design and illustrate in Illustrator and keyframed each scene in After Effects. I then brought all the scenes together to create my final video. I took inspiration form the PSA "Dumb Ways to Die" that bring awareness to train safety using monsters in entertaining scenarios and are singing and dancing. My process incluing creating a look and feel, storyboards, animatics, and an animation script.
